Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo showed his softer side by offering to pay for operation of a 10 month old baby boy who was suffering from neurological disorder called cortical dysplasia.
10 month old Erik Ortiz Cruz is born with cortical dysplasia, a condition that can caused 30 seizures a day. Young Erik’s family and their friends have been exerting their efforts to raise money for his surgery that costs $83,000.
They started with social media awareness campaign by creating a Facebook page for Erik. They also asked Cristiano Ronaldo to donate autographed boots and a shirt to a fund raising auction. Ronaldo was touched by the boy’s local community’s attempts to help the boy and decided to go extra mile and cover the entire surgery.
This is not the first time that Ronaldo showed this kind of gesture, back in 2012 he also paid for a nine-year-old cancer treatment.
