Turn Your Kitchen into a Makeshift Day Spa

There are so many reasons why it’s a wonderful idea to step foot in a day spa. However, your shoestring budget as well as tons of home or office responsibilities may keep you from getting professional pampering from head to foot.

So what does a cost-conscious and busy woman like you should do to look and feel like royalty? Rush to the kitchen!

Your kitchen is a place where some of the most effective and inexpensive all-natural beauty and relaxation solutions can be easily found. Read on and start turning your kitchen into your makeshift day spa!

1. Deep condition your mane with eggs.
Depending on the length of your hair, crack open 2 to 3 eggs and whisk them until really frothy. Apply on your hair and allow it to dry. Hit the shower and enjoy soft, bouncy and lustrous tresses.

2. Apply avocado to enjoy strong and shiny hair.
Peel and remove the pit of 1/2 avocado. Place in a bowl and mash with a fork. Add the contents of a small mayonnaise jar and mix very well. Apply the creamy green conditioner from roots to tips. Cover with a shower cap. Rinse thoroughly after 20 minutes.

3. Exfoliate with baking soda to attain glowing skin.
Remove dead cells that dull up your complexion by gently massaging on your face a mixture of 3 tablespoons of baking soda plus a few drops of water. Brown sugar works great too!

4. Use oatmeal to deal with acne and oily skin.
Cook oatmeal according to package directions. Allow to cool completely and apply on problem areas. Leave your oatmeal mask there for a few minutes to soothe skin inflammation and absorb excess oils. Rinse off thoroughly with cold water afterwards.

5. Lighten blemishes with lemon juice.
The acidity of this citrus fruit’s juice is very good at improving the appearance of dark spots left behind by pimples. Simply daub lemon juice on blemishes before you hit the sack. Rinse in the morning.

6. Improve dark elbows and knees with sea salt.
Who needs an expensive body exfoliating product when you got sea salt in your kitchen? Simply add a few drops of olive oil to a handful of sea salt and use as body scrub.

7. Hydrate your skin with coconut oil.
It’s true that coconut oil may be cheaper than olive oil, but this healthy oil is just as effective in moisturizing your skin. Coconut oil is perfect on dry elbows, knees and just about any other part of your body which is prone to dryness. Makes you smell lip-smacking too!

8. Use coffee grounds to combat cellulite.
Most anti-cellulite products on the market rely on caffeine to work. Ditch buying any one of those pricey solutions and get your hands on some used coffee grounds instead. Mix with olive oil to make a smooth paste and massage for a few minutes on problem areas.

9. Strengthen nails with garlic.
Rub a peeled garlic clove on your nails and leave the juice there for 5 minutes. Wash thoroughly with soap and enjoy stronger nails. Want to get rid of yellowed nails? Solve the problem by dipping them in lemon juice for a few minutes.

10. Soften and freshen your feet with black tea.
Brew a cup of your favorite black tea. Transfer to a small tub half filled with lukewarm water and soak your feet in the mixture for a few minutes to soften skin as well as get rid of bad odor.
