Traveling has always been equated with fun and adventure and for the most part, it is. However, what is usually not mentioned is the time one spends riding a public transportation to get from one place to another. Depending on where you are headed, riding a vehicle to bring you to next wanderlust destination could be as short as a few minutes to long, grueling hours. But traveling on your way to your next adventure need not be boring. Here are some ways you could pass the time while riding a public transportation.
1. Listen to fun music
This is a tried and tested formula for keeping your boredom at bay when traveling. Whether you choose to relax with classical music or hype up your mood with upbeat tunes, plugging your earphones could add a dose of delight into your otherwise uneventful trip. For that added zest, choose a music native to the country you’re traveling to as it could be a good way to immerse yourself in the local culture.
2. Read a book
The only way to have an adventure while in an adventure. Reading a book could help one not just pass the time but also broaden the perspective of its reader. Whether you choose a bestselling novel or any light read, the story would keep you preoccupied and captivated. However, be wary if you are prone to motion sickness.
Doesn’t take much to daydream. Aside from the fact that it’s free and does not need any equipment or gadget, it’s one way to exercise your creativity as well. Create a story or an adventure, think of places you want to visit on your trip. Anything goes and you’re guaranteed to have lots of fun when you do.
4. Start a conversation
It might be a bit weird and stalker-ish at first but who knows, you might just meet new interesting people that could be real friends in the future. It could also be one way to help you gain confidence and overcome your shyness. Just be sure to touch on light topics and not force someone to talk to you when he/she is not interested.
5. Watch the view outside you
There is a great world out there. You might just be too busy to notice at times, but admiring the scenery may be a good way for your to reconnect with nature and appreciate creation.
